Friend Brought Back to Life

Favors attributed to Bishop Alphonse Gallegos

On Sunday morning August 9, 2009, I received a request from a friend, Charlene, asking prayers for her friend Gaspar Barone. He is diabetic, he had a low sugar reaction, and had been dead for 10 minutes before the paramedics brought him back. They took him to the Trauma Unit, but he could not speak and was thrashing about. The Doctors thought that he might have permanent brain damage. She was asking for prayers for him.

Man Alive and Well
After Being Dead 10 Minutes

Man Alive and Well After Being Dead 10 Minutes

A true miracle has happened for my friend Gaspar Barone, 63 year old single male. We have been good friends since 1988. He has been a diabetic since he was two years old; Type l diabetes has been with him for 61 years. The past two years he has been under constant care of peripheral arterial disease in his feet and legs; and the right leg was saved through maggot therapy and prayers; but the left leg had to be amputated below the knee June 25, 2009.

I had moved to Gaspar's home residence to care for him since the left leg amputation surgery. He lives in Brookpark, Ohio and I live about 20 miles away in Parma, Ohio. Neither of us were married and we do not have any children.

Cured of Dry Eye Syndrome

For years now I have been suffering with dry eye syndrome, especially in my left eye. The eye would water, tear and I would develop a red rash under the eye and over the eye. My daughter is an eye doctor and she has given me many medicines, of which none seem to really help. I have been diagnosed by other medical doctors as well.

Young girl recovers her vision
while praying before the tomb of
Bishop Alphonse Gallegos, OAR

On June 28, 2008, my family and I woke up around 4 am preparing for our big trip to Sacramento, California. Our hearts were full of faith and in our minds we all knew that I was going to come back seeing again. The reason is that I lost my sight on September 11, 2007. It happened suddenly. All that I remember is that I suddenly fainted, and the following day when I woke up I could not see at all.

Eye Surgery Not Needed

My wife was scheduled for eye surgery to remove her cataracts. I made a novena to Bishop Alphonse Gallegos, O.A.R, prior to her surgery. The day came to see her doctor once again prior to her surgery; they examined her eyes and found that there was no need for the surgery.

Two unexpected years of life

My friend, Barbara Scott, died of cancer October 3, 2008. She had been in remission for two years. The summer of 2006 she was considered terminal. The doctors said there was nothing more they could do for her except keep her comfortable. She looked awful and none of us thought she would make it until Thanksgiving.
