Friend Brought Back to Life
On Sunday morning August 9, 2009, I received a request from a friend, Charlene, asking prayers for her friend Gaspar Barone. He is diabetic, he had a low sugar reaction, and had been presumed dead for 10 minutes before the paramedics brought him back. They took him to the Trauma Unit, but he could not speak and was thrashing about. The Doctors thought that he might have permanent brain damage. She was asking for prayers for him. I had heard about Bishop Gallegos and his cause for canonization on Spirit Daily, and I said a quick prayer to him: Your Excellency, Bishop Gallegos, please help Gaspar, and I will send the results to the cause for your canonization. On August 13, 2009 I received an e-mail from Charlene stating that after being in a diabetic coma for two days, the Doctors were amazed that he woke up again and with no brain damage. The Doctors found some blockage in some arteries and put stints in. My husband and I went to the hospital on Friday August 14, 2009 to visit Gaspar. We found him walking down the hall for exercise. We had a wonderful conversation with him, and he said that he was ready to go home. He was discharged that evening. Ellen Willetts |
