Ordination

Fr. Matthew Alejo, O.A.R was ordained on Saturday, June 11th by the San Pedro Region Auxiliary Bishop Alexander Salazar. The ordination took place at St. Benedict Parish, Montebello at 6:00pm.

Matthew was honored to have most of his family present at the ordination and a good number of Augustinian Recollect friars, and priests friend, 17 priests and 2 deacons. After Fr. Alejo gave First Priestly Blessings, all enjoyed the refreshments prepared by the community of St Benedict parish

The Liturgy was enhanced by beautiful music provided by the combined Filippino choir of Los Angeles and St. Benedict choir, directed by Fr. Michael Kenny, OAR.

Fr. Matthew celebrated his first Mass at Mary Star of the Sea on Sunday, June 12th, at 10:30am. Bishop Salazar joined local parishioners and the Augustinian Recollect community for the occasion. Afterward a gathering was held in the parish auditorium with refreshments provided by Mary Star of the Sea and the St. Ezekiel Moreno Guild of St. Augustine Priory.
