June 19th the Friars began the day at 7:00am with prayer followed by the Holy Eucharist in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Today marked the beginning of the Year for Priest June 19th- June 11th 2010, declared by Pope Benedict XVI. Fr. Charles Huse, Prior Provincial, was the main celebrant. He spoke about encountering the loving heart of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, in each other and in the faithful that love and support us.

Our first session of the day began at 9:15am. We began with an opening prayer followed by the reading of messages sent to the capitulars, included where greetings from: Fr. Juan Manuel Torecilla, Secretary of Saint Joseph Province and Fr. Miguel Angel Hernández, Provincial of Saint Thomas Province.

This was followed by reading the minutes of the previous meeting. After the reading of the minutes we went to work in our assigned commissions to elaborate specific determinations to be presented in general session. We returned to the general session at 7:45pm were discussion followed in regards to the determinations presented, particular in regards to Apostolate, St. Joseph Cursillo Center and the unification of Mary Star of the Sea Parish and Saint Augustine Priory into one community all residing at the Priory. The establishment of JAR (Juventudes Agustinas Recoletas) in all of our parishes was also discussed. The meeting ended at 9pm.
